Appeal launched after Gosport exposure incident

HAMPSHIRE CONSTABULARY have announced they have launched an “urgent” appeal for witnesses and information to assist their continuing investigations following a ‘suspicious incident’ that took place in Gosport early last Wednesday morning; which saw a woman fall victim to a case of indecent exposure by an unidentified male as she walked her dog.

This incident is believed to have occurred at approximately 8:40am on December 11, as the victim walked along Broom Lane in Lee-on-the-Solent (alongside the opposite side of the road to the BP Garage). She saw a male moving towards her to the direction of Cemast College, and also appeared to be mumbling to himself under his breath whilst he walked.

After passing the junction along Court Barn Lane, the woman noticed that the male was exposing himself as he passed her; the man continuing to walk towards the college with police officers also informed of the incident. Early inquiries are ongoing and investigators are keen to identify the man involved; who is described as white and aged between 50 to 60.

He is further described as having a physically stocky build and had a dirty looking face along with short dark brown hair at the time of this incident. The man was also wearing either a dark-coloured boiler suit or matching trousers and a top; whilst he also had dirty work boot style footwear that was either brown or dark coloured according to this press release.

Detectives are asking for anybody with information or can help to contact police by calling their non-emergency number 101 and quote the case’s reference number of 44240538592.
