Appeal launched after Portchester collision

HAMPSHIRE CONSTABULARY have announced they have launched an “urgent” appeal for witnesses and information to help their continuing investigations following a ‘serious road traffic’ collision in Portchester earlier on this week; which saw a male motorcyclist suffer multiple life threatening injuries after he collided with another vehicle along a busy route.

Emergency services were called to the scene along the westbound carriageway of the A27 Portchester Road at around 7:36pm on Tuesday evening (September 24) to reports of an incident that involved a white Ford Fiesta and Motorcycle. The rider, a man in his thirties from Gosport, was quickly taken to hospital for medical care and is said to be recovering.

Investigators believe there was multiple potential witnesses who were driving along this road or surrounding areas and may have seen either of the vehicles involved; including both before and within the aftermath of this collision. They are also keen to speak with anybody who has Dash-Cam or CCTV footage taken that would assist with the early enquiries.

Detectives are asking for anybody with information or can help to contact police by calling their non-emergency number 101 and quote the case’s reference number of 44240415566. They can further submit details using the online reporting tool available on the Hampshire Police website, with all official support and further guidance available on the links here.

Alternatively, readers can contact the “independent charity” Crimestoppers 100% anonymously by calling 0800 555 111 for absolutely free; or via their anonymous online forms which can be found through their website: https://orlo.uk/250kR
