Bygone Years: Railways in Gosport

WITH train strikes affecting the network throughout 2022 and recent announcements that ticket costs will rise by up to six-percent by March; a prospect of commuter rail usage improving looks unlikely come New Year. It hasn’t always been the case however with Gosport proving popular for its railway network throughout history.

In this weekly edition of Bygone Years, our Globe photographer Peter Maguire has been peeking through his huge collections of historic and recent local imagery to showcase trains and stations in Gosport; following up from his similar selections printed back in November that is available here (credits to original photographers).
