Covid-19 figures show slight increase for Gosport

THE latest rates of Covid-19 across Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight show a slight increase for Gosport.

But, according to the BBC website’s Local News / Area figure page this morning, Tuesday, August 10, the downward trend in Fareham has continued this week.

The figures are the number of coronavirus cases per 100,000 people in the seven days up to and including August 5, compared with the week before, shown in brackets.

The breakdown of the figures by local authority area is:

  • Southampton – 378 (down from 406)
  • Portsmouth – 325 (up from 303)
  • Rushmoor – 206 (up from 197)
  • Gosport – 265 (up from 240)
  • Havant – 249 (up from 233)
  • Winchester – 205 (down from 236)
  • Fareham – 254 (down from 255)
  • New Forest – 269 (up from 227)
  • Basingstoke and Deane – 235 up from 200)
  • East Hampshire – 203 (up from 178)
  • Eastleigh – 314 (down from 317)
  • Test Valley – 222 (down from 238)
  • Hart – 256 (up from 225)
  • Isle of Wight – 124 (down from 192)

For comparison, the figure for England is 291 (down from 292).
