GOSPORT BOROUGH CRICKET CLUB (GBCC) have finally learnt their first team’s opponents and fixture schedule for the 2022 season due to start on Easter weekend, with times and dates announced by the Hampshire Cricket League recently for all matches which will see forty overs for each side.

They will open the campaign with a home clash versus Hursley Park CC at Privett Park on April 16, before travelling for an away derby versus Fareham & Crofton CC one week later. GBCC will end April with another home match against Portsmouth & Southsea; all three of these matches starting at 1pm.

Eight matches follow between the start of May and end of June, with four at Privett Park and another four away from home. Highlights include a visit from Basingstoke & North Hampshire Cricket Club on May 28 to Privett Park alongside away trips to Havant CC and Purbrook CC in the month of June.

The height of summer will start on July 2 with another derby at Privett Park with Portsmouth & Southsea CC visiting for the reverse fixture. Another six league games will be played in the period running to August Bank Holiday; including home matches against Paultons CC, Havant CC and South Wiltshire CC.

GBCC will end the league campaign with two tough games starting with an away encounter versus Portsmouth & Southsea (the third fixture between the two) on August 27 before hosting Trojans CC on the final day on September 2 to finish their 22 match season lasting five and a half months.

But before the competitive action begins, there will be an intersquad friendly on April 9; starting at 1pm in the Privett Park vicinity between the first and second teams. Fixtures can be seen here with times and locations of all games, although fans are asked to check before travelling due to weather and other potential postponements at short notice throughout the season.
