Investigators start appeal following Fareham incident

HAMPSHIRE CONSTABULARY have announced they have launched an “urgent” appeal for witnesses and information to assist their continuing investigations following a suspicious incident in Fareham last Wednesday evening; which saw two teenage girls become victim to an offence of indecent exposure carried out by an unidentified man on a busy route.

The two girls were reportedly travelling along the foot path towards Redlands Lane from the direction of Omaha Close / Sword Drive when they noticed a man at approximately 7pm on February 5. He further exposed himself and committed an indecent act towards the girls before they walked away from the area; the incident being later reported to detectives.

Early enquiries are ongoing in the attempt to identify the male; who is described as being white, aged in his twenties or thirties and approximately 5ft 10ins to 5ft 11ins tall in his height. At the time of this incident he is said to have worn dark clothing and a jumper / hoodie with a rainbow coloured Adidas logo across the chest, according to an official statement.

Detectives are hoping to speak with anybody who could have witnessed the incident or the man involved, alongside all those who were driving or walking in the area that would assist the investigation. They have further encouraged victims of indecent exposure to come forward and report the offences where a range of specialist support is available for them.

Investigators are urging anybody with potential information to contact the police by calling their non-emergency number 101 and quote the case’s reference number of 44250055453.
