Man charged for Fareham vehicle offences

HAMPSHIRE POLICE have confirmed that a man has been charged as part of an investigation into a series of thefts from motor vehicles in Fareham over recent weeks.

Officers have received a number of separate reports of vehicles being accessed, or car door handles being tried, across the borough through the months of April and May.

As part of the police investigation, 31-year-old man Richard Featherstone, of no fixed abode was arrested and a press release on Thursday morning confirmed he has now been charged after questioning.

The offences listed are as follows: Vehicle interference in Watersmeet, Fareham, on 12 April, Vehicle interference in Watersmeet, Fareham, on 29 April, 2x Vehicle interference in Wild Ridings, Fareham, on 2 May, Vehicle interference in Holmefield Avenue, Fareham, on 2 May, Vehicle interference in Helsby Close, Fareham, on 2 May and Vehicle interference in Mill Road, Fareham, on 2 May

He was due to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court today (May 5) after being remanded in custody, with police keen to state that the investigation into the above incidents remain ongoing at this stage.
