Witnesses sought after man injured in collision
HAMPSHIRE CONSTABULARY have announced they have launched an ‘urgent’ appeal for witnesses and information to help their ongoing investigation following a serious collision incident in Sarisbury Green late last month, which saw a man suffer potentially life changing injuries after he was hit by an unidentified car during the early hours of the morning.
Officers were called at approximately 3am last Thursday (May 29) responding to reports of a collision along Montefiore Drive between a pedestrian and dark coloured car. The vehicle didn’t stop at the scene and a thirty-eight year old male was taken to Southampton General Hospital; where he remains in a stable condition with ‘serious injuries’ to the pelvis.
Detectives are attempting to locate the vehicle and believe there were two people acting suspiciously in the area trying ‘car door handles’ shortly before this incident. There have been no arrests at this time of writing, but local residents are asked to contact them if they saw / heard anything alongside those who have doorbell / dashcam videos that may help.
Investigators are urging anybody with potential information to contact the police by calling their non-emergency number 101 and quote the case’s reference number of 44250233585. They can further submit details using the online reporting tool available on the Hampshire Police website, with all official support and further guidance available on the links here.
Alternatively, readers can contact the “independent charity” Crimestoppers 100% anonymously by calling 0800 555 111 for absolutely free; or via their anonymous online forms which can be found through their website: https://orlo.uk/250kR
