Witnesses sought following fatal motorcycle crash

HAMPSHIRE CONSTABULARY have announced they have launched an “urgent” appeal for witnesses and information to assist their ongoing investigations following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred in Gosport on Sunday afternoon (March 30); which saw a man aged in his thirties sustain life ending injuries after his motorcycle hit a tree on Fort Road.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 2:05pm and immediately shut the area from Gilkicker Road to Dolphin Way whilst they dealt with this incident. Tragically the motorcyclist was soon pronounced dead at the scene despite the huge effort of medical personnel with the next of kin informed and they are currently being supported by specialist staff.

Investigators believe there was multiple potential witnesses who were driving along this road or surrounding areas and may have seen either this vehicle / driver involved; including both before and within the aftermath of this collision. They are also keen to talk with anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage taken that would assist with their early enquiries.

Detectives are asking for anybody with information or can help to contact police by calling their non-emergency number 101 and give the case’s reference code 0884 of March 30. They can further submit all details using the online reporting tool available on the Hampshire Police website, with all official support and further guidance available on the links here.
