Appeal launched after Morrisons car park assault

HAMPSHIRE CONSTABULARY have announced they have launched an ‘urgent’ appeal for witnesses and information to assist their ongoing investigation following a serious incident that occurred in Gosport over this weekend; which saw a man in his fifties sustain facial injuries after he was approached and assaulted by another male in Morrisons car park.

Officers received a report that this incident happened at approximately 7:15am on Sunday morning (September 7); this victim being within the supermarket’s parking area on Walpole Road before being attacked. The victim needed hospital treatment for many facial injuries and police are currently carrying out their first enquiries about what exactly happened.

Detectives are looking to talk with a man who was described as between 18-24 years old with a tall build and a shaven head; whilst he was wearing a navy-blue t-shirt, black shorts, and blue sandals with socks. They are hopeful of hearing from any witnesses who may have been driving or walking in this area and saw anything, alongside all Dashcam video.
