Organisers invite local residents to Christmas event

FAREHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL have offered local residents a chance to enjoy a festive spirit in November as they announced further information about an upcoming Christmas Lights switch on event which has been held in the town centre annually in recent years and has brought thousands of guests together in this area for the early free festivities.

Its family friendly occasion will take place across the pedestrianised area of West Street on November 21 (Saturday) and is free for everybody to attend; starting at 10am and finishing for 7pm. Activities will be held on this date such as face painting, festive gift stalls, food / drink and fun fair rides whilst performers are set to entertain on this main stage.

Countdowns for the Christmas Lights is planned at 5:30pm under the town centre bandstand and will be attended by Mayor of Fareham Councillor, Tina Ellis. She is further scheduled to be joined by the Consort, Councillor Robert Ellis, in doing these honours alongside Father Christmas, and cast of the Fareham Live Pantomime ‘Jack & The Beanstalk’.

Similarly to previous occasions there will be a festive market organised via Funyard Events and it will feature several stalls with parties asked to click www.funyardevents.com for information about selling products. All potential sponsors should view the link and anyone who is interested in performing is required to contact leisure@fareham.gov.uk ASAP.

Residents have been asked to use local public transport where possible due to the expected big crowds with several choices available such as bus / train services nearby whilst limited parking areas would be located in the town centre.
