Parish Centre announces new Bernards partnership

By Philippa Harrap

THE ALVERSTOKE PARISH CENTRE have announced that they have agreed an exciting new partnership alongside Bernards; which will see the growing estate agent company make fundraising donations to the regeneration project for every property sold across Alverstoke as well as other benefits for the project.

Bernards Estate Agents have recently expanded their agency network by opening offices in Lee-on-the-Solent (incorporating Eckersley White) and on Gosport High Street, where they have merged with White and Brooks. These offices now complement the group which has well-established branches in Fareham, Portsmouth, Southsea, Drayton and Waterlooville.

Director Darren Tait is based at the office in Lee-on-the-Solent after living locally for most of his life and is keen to support the project to redevelop Alverstoke Parish Centre; thus securing its long-term future for the community. Therefore a deal has been stuck that means that the estate agents will become a charity partner for the regeneration project.

Alongside the news that a donation will be made to the fund for every property sold in Alverstoke the estate agents have offered to fund publicity / printing, as well as sponsoring future fundraising events. Full details of properties currently on the market through Bernards Estate Agents can be found by visiting www.bernardsestates.co.uk.

Darren stated his thoughts as he said: “As a company, we contribute to the local community by bringing employment, and we give back to the communities that support our business by supporting charities, schools and local events. We are local people, with big hearts, who are passionate about supporting our local communities and charities.

He continued: We strive to make a positive contribution and have achieved this in a number of ways, such as playing in charity football matches for Friends Fighting Cancer, supporting local schools, and sponsoring charity events. We are now delighted to support the charity raising funds to redevelop the Parish Centre in Alverstoke, which has been at the heart of the local community for over 60 years.”

This update comes shortly after Phrase One work was recently completed at the Parish Centre; which consisted of a new car park (providing accessible parking) and a well-lit footpath. It also featured the installation of solar power and battery storage, whilst also ensured the removal of asbestos, replacements soffits, fascias, and guttering.
