Sultan hosts fun filled family activity summer camps

A LARGE GROUP of children from Naval families have been participating in the 2025 King’s Camps; which will be running for a total of two weeks at the Gosport-based training establishment of HMS Sultan and has been funded by the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC).
The RNRMC has been working in partnership with The Kings Active Foundation and the Royal Navy to provide these camps; thus allowing children to enjoy leading sports and activity camps over recent summers.
These children are aged from five to seventeen years old and the camps are available for heavily subsidised cost at Royal Navy establishments around the UK. And approximately one hundred youngsters will enjoy the camps across two weeks of sporting activities at HMS Sultan; which have already started and early signs are positive.
The Base Warrant Officer, HMS Sultan, Warrant Officer 1 Marty Wallace said: “It’s fantastic to see HMS Sultan hosting Kings Camp once again. These activity camps provide such valuable opportunities for our Naval families, giving children the chance to stay active and engaged during the school holidays.”
He continued to offer his thoughts by adding: “The energy and enthusiasm from the children has been infectious – it’s wonderful to see them making new friendships and trying new activities in a safe, supportive environment.”
Mandy Lindley, Director of Relationships and Funding at RNRMC said: “These activity camps are at the heart of what we do – supporting Naval families and ensuring children have access to quality holiday activities regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.”
She concluded: “Partnerships with establishments like HMS Sultan are crucial to our mission. By working together, we’re able to bring these camps directly to where Naval families are based, making them truly accessible to those who need them most.”
