Further charges issued in Gosport murder case

HAMPSHIRE CONSTABULARY have announced they have officially ‘charged’ another three individuals as part of their continuing ‘Operation Talus’ investigations; bringing the total figure to seven people since twenty-two year old Levi Kent sadly died after being seriously assaulted in the Keyes Road area of Bridgemary early on the morning of November 24.

In their latest updates published on Wednesday morning (December 13); police said that fifty-six year old Mark Phillips, of Gilbert Close, has been charged with ‘perverting the course of justice’. Meanwhile thirty-seven year old Liam Savage (Trinity Green) and 42-year-old Peter West (Fisgard Road) have been charged with two counts of assisting an offender.

These latest charges join four others announced by investigators back in late November and they are next to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on January 10, 2024. These include 18-year old Tommy West from Fisgard Road and 24-year old Aiden West of Tudor Close; whom were charged with counts of murder, robbery, and possession of a bladed article.

Forty-five year old Joanne West, of no fixed abode, was charged with two counts of assisting an offender; whilst Sarah Flynn, age 35, of James Close was charged with assisting an offender. A number of other people were further released on bail pending investigation and officers are set to update the public on this case on the Hampshire Constabulary site.

Investigators are still asking for any witnesses and information, particularly surrounding a red ‘Vauxhall Corsa’ that was involved in a collision at the scene and is linked to enquires. They have asked for those who may have spotted this car across Gosport and Fareham or witnessed the incident to come forward to help; alongside those who have any videos.

Investigators are asking for anybody with information or footage to contact police by calling the non-emergency number 101 and quote the case’s reference number of 44230475737. They can further submit details using the online reporting tool available on the Hampshire Police website, with all official support and further guidance available on the links here.
