LEE-ON-THE-SOLENT remains a popular seaside district of Gosport for its local residents and visitors alike; hosting a range stunning views across the coastline and its traditional shopping area on the Promenade. This district further has a significant association with aviation, railways, tourism, leisure, education, and training lasting back to Victorian years.

For this latest edition of Bygone Years, our Globe photographer Peter Maguire has been searching through his popular collections of historic and recent local imagery to showcase the Lee-on-the-Solent area from multiple past generations; including its scenic seafront, previous events and contributions to nationwide tourism (credit to original photographers).
