Police appeal launched after suspicious incident
HAMPSHIRE CONSTABULARY have announced they have launched an ‘urgent’ appeal for witnesses and information to boost their ongoing investigations following a suspicious incident that happened inside a Gosport convenience store earlier in the year; which saw an unidentified male lift up a female’s skirt and left her visibly distressed as she shopped.
It was reported that the incident occurred at approximately 2:40pm on August 24 (Sunday) as the victim visited the Co-Op on Dartmouth Court in Forton; the male leaving the store soon afterwards. He has been described as being around 39-years old with short hair and white skin; whilst he was said to be medium built according to an official press release.
The male was wearing dark shorts and a navy-blue t-shirt with a white Barbour logo across the chest at the time of this incident; the police carrying out extensive enquiries in recent weeks following an initial report. Detectives are now keen to talk with anyone who may have been inside this store or surrounding area and saw anything that may be suspicious.
Investigators are urging anybody with potential information to contact the police by calling their non-emergency number 101 and quote the case’s reference number of 44250418402. They can further submit details using the online reporting tool available on the Hampshire Police website, with all official support and further guidance available on the links here.
Alternatively, readers can contact the “independent charity” Crimestoppers 100% anonymously by calling 0800 555 111 for absolutely free; or via their anonymous online forms which can be found through their website: https://orlo.uk/250kR
