Residents celebrate opening of B&M Titchfield branch

By Connor Steel

HUNDREDS of residents came together on Saturday morning (December 2) to celebrate the long awaited opening of a brand new B&M store and Garden Centre in Titchfield; the discount retailer combining the former Argos and Sealy area to create a 34,840 square foot space that joins the fellow branches based in Newgate Lane and Fareham Town Centre.

This new store opened at 8am on Saturday after months of development work and was immediately met with hundreds of visitors; which was boosted by people buying Christmas presents and enjoying the first weekend after “payday”. The opening further marked the first day of employment for a total of eighty local people with varying skills and experiences.

Staff were asked to nominate a local charity to officially unveil this branch and they chose the ‘Rainbow Centre‘ as their option; aiming to support those children and adults with neurological conditions like Cerebral Palsy. Their team will also get £250 worth of B&M vouchers that will go towards helping this charity to continue their great work across this region.

Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries including a range of food, drink and pet food, whilst a variety of products such as plants can be located in the garden centre. Other essentials include homeware, DIY, health, beauty, gifts, stationery, furniture, toys, and games; which should all feature their individual aisles and area in the store.

Residents can explore the Titchfield branch of B&M by visiting 166A Southampton Road and its postcode is PO14 4QL; whilst the X5 bus service stops nearby and this site has a free parking facility. Regular opening hours are 8am to 10pm (Monday-Saturday) and 10am to 4pm on Sundays; although a special festive schedule is due to continue until January.
