PERSONNEL from HMS Sultan joined together with residents and veterans from across the borough as they attended three ceremonies to mark Remembrance Sunday this weekend; which saw the country commemorate the fallen servicemen and women in the two World War Wars alongside later conflicts.
The Worshipful Mayor of Gosport, Mrs Kirsten Bradley, and Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire Admiral Sir Philip Jones GCB DL led the borough in remembrance at the annual ceremony / parade held at Gosport War Memorial Hospital. HMS Sultan provided the Guard of Honour that was led by Parade Commander Warrant Officer 2 John Davies with Guard Officer Lieutenant Reuben Taylor; whilst the ceremony was officiated by the Chaplain to the Mayor of Gosport, Reverend Paul Chamberlain. Cadets from HMS Sultan’s Royal Naval & Royal Marine Cadet Corps and the Band of the Royal Marines Volunteer Cadet Corps Gosport also participated in the ceremony.
