Visitors reminded to take advantage of early bird offer

By Marie Arnott

HMS COLLINGWOOD have reminded visitors to purchase their early bird tickets for its annual open day occasion due to take place later this summer; which is set to entice thousands of people to the Fareham training establishment throughout the event.

As previously announced the site will open to the public on July 4 (Saturday) and tickets have been very popular with visitors due to the early bird offer; in which prices are lower overall. An adult ticket is priced at £10 and a child ticket (three to fifteen years) is costing £7; the same price as a carer entrant fee. Meanwhile a family ticket for two adults and three children will cost £34 until May 31, where the above prices will increase slightly.

From June 1 the price of an adult ticket will be £14 and £10 per child, whilst a carer is due to increase to £10 and a family ticket is set as £40. Therefore, event organisers have reminded interested people to purchase their tickets as soon as possible, or risk paying higher prices overall for this popular event that has an exciting itinerary for all.

This unique family event will be showcasing the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) Field Gun Competition alongside attractions, entertainment and displays designed to capture the imagination of everyone. It further hopes to provide an honest insight into HMS Collingwood, Defence Training, the Royal Navy and other Armed / Public Forces throughout the day.

There will be Interactive Zones for hands-on activities and parts of the establishment will be open to visitors; which will allow them to see the Royal Navy’s training equipment and experience some training firsthand. Visitors can also try the tough task of navigating a ship into harbour using the unique Warship Bridge Simulator.

The 2026 RNRMC Field Gun Competition will yet again see a range of crews from across the UK and beyond; who will be competing for the coveted Brickwoods Trophy with 2025 winners REME hoping to retain their title. There will be a military village alongside fairground rides including the dodgems and inflatable attractions, whilst the children’s area will see a petting zoo and much more for no extra costs.

The gates will open from 9:30am with a free bus service set to run from Gosport and Fareham in both directions, as has proven successful in previous years. Once the entrance fee is paid all entertainment and attractions are then free of charge, including the fairground rides. Ticket details including extra bird prices are available via https://royalnavy.ticketsrv.co.uk, but readers must be aware that these are available for a limited time only.
