Witnesses wanted after incident near train station

HAMPSHIRE CONSTABULARY have announced they have launched an ‘urgent’ appeal for witnesses and information to assist their ongoing investigation following an incident that occurred close to Fareham Train Station early this month; which saw a man and woman approached by five unidentified teenagers as they left the busy public transport link area.

The incident happened between 7:30pm and 7:40pm on December 14, as both victims exited outside the Train Station, where three boys and two girls approached them before trying to steal this man’s rucksack. They further assaulted this male and caused him to sustain a minor injury, before they are believed to catch a bus service towards Redlands Lane.

This group were described as being aged sixteen to twenty years and having white skin whilst one was wearing a grey hoodie and another member was dressed in all black. Police are looking to speak to anyone who could have seen this incident or the group involved, as well as those who may have video footage or Dash-cam from the surrounding areas.

Investigators are urging anybody with potential information to contact the police by calling their non-emergency number 101 and quote the case’s reference number of 44250562945.
