MP announces 2022 Senior Citizens’ Fair

FAREHAM MP and recent Prime Ministerial contender Suella Braverman has announced that she will be hosting the annual Senior Citizens’ Fair for the town’s constituents later this month; which will aim to help the most vulnerable age groups across the community and offers advice about a range of accessible networks.

Scheduled for the first full week of the summer Parliamentary recess this fair will be held on July 29 (Friday) between the hours of 2pm and 5pm. The address for the three hour event is Fareham Leisure Centre, Park Lane, Fareham, PO16 7JU; with car and disabled blue badge parking available outside the entrance.

It has been confirmed that a number of local organisations will be attending the event alongside the Attorney General, with many yet to be confirmed in the next 10 days. These will likely include representatives from health advice support groups, home support, shopping support, social support groups and activity clubs.

Suella will furthermore be attending the event as she commented: “All too often we hear about the problems that can accompany the ageing process, including loneliness and isolation, and I am holding this event to raise awareness of the support that exists within our community. The fair will bring together a wide variety of local charities and organisations, enabling people to browse the stalls at leisure.”

Admittance to next Friday’s fair is free (no costs) and it is not necessary to pre-book any appointment slots, with everybody invited to simply come along on the day. With assessible facilities It is open to everybody with no age barriers as the event could furthermore help those caring for senior citizens or family members.
