Chemists open across region over bank holiday

THE NHS has published the opening times of pharmacies across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight over the upcoming May bank holiday weekend, which will fall early next month.

Readers can click on Hampshire or the Isle of Wight for details of the local pharmacies which will be open on the early May bank holiday on Monday May 2, providing a network of medicines and expert advice in convenient locations, and available throughout the holiday period.

The details are correct at the time of publishing but are subject to change at short notice. Readers are advised to contact the pharmacy before attending to ensure they are open and have the medication you require. They can also visit www.nhs.uk/service-search/pharmacy/find-a-pharmacy to find their nearest pharmacy that is open, with many across Gosport and Fareham shut from Friday evening to Tuesday morning.

Dr Nicola Decker, Clinical Leader for NHS Hampshire, Southampton and Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “Local pharmacies are an invaluable resource and important part of the NHS care offer – they are often the most convenient, timely option for a wide range of everyday problems.”

She continued: “Pharmacists provide expert advice about over-the-counter medicines to treat common health conditions – as well as advice on medication and a range of other services. They are also trained to advise you whether you need to see a GP, nurse or other healthcare professional and can also provide health and wellbeing advice.”
