Mitre hold mental health fundraising occasion

By Maddie Purdy

HMS COLLINGWOOD have expressed their pride as employees from Mitre enjoyed an enjoyable morning of cake and coffee last Wednesday (May 13) at the Fareham based training establishment; which raised money for the Mind charity and was organised in conjunction with Mental Health Awareness Week that spanned from May 11 to 17 (Monday to Sunday)

The event was designed to be inclusive for the entire site’s population of over three thousand personnel with Mind being the perfect charity to support both military and civilian colleagues. With their local branch Solent Mind and the charity’s Anchoring Minds service, this meant there was an avenue for any attendees seeking local and relevant pathways to mental health support.

One of the event’s organisers, said “So far, we have raised over £500 and we couldn’t be prouder of the success generated from the Cake & Coffee morning. We extend our sincere thanks to the Royal Navy personnel, civilians, and contractors who attended and contributed; as well as the dedicated Mitie team who baked, organised, and delivered such a rewarding morning.”

Readers can visit https://www.mind.org.uk/ for more information and support at any point. The website has multiple sources to help everybody including useful tips and signposting to the nearest supporting branch. There is also still time to make donations to the charity via the event’s JustGiving page available online here.
