Shopping centre announces Poppy Appeal campaign
By Connor Steel
FAREHAM SHOPPING CENTRE have expressed their ‘immense pride’ as they announced their support for the 2025 Poppy Appeal and confirmed more information on the campaign this year; which will again be run by the Royal British Legion and still has deep significance for this local community as they prepare to pay tributes to our fallen war heroes.
The campaign began last Thursday (October 23) and will continue until Armistice Day (November 11), with organisers aiming to surpass their 2024 total of £19631.49 this time around. Volunteers for the Royal British Legion will be based within the Shopping Centre selling poppies and a mixture of charitable merchandise including wristbands and badges.
Shoppers are encouraged to give support by offering donations and proudly wearing poppies in ‘honour’ of those who are still serving in a dangerous world as well as those who have lost their lives in service. Monies raised by the Poppy Appeal will provide vital help in areas of Financial Support, Advice, Employment, Mobility, Housing and Mental Health.
Centre Manager, Mike Taylor, stated in a media release: We are proud to once again support the Royal British Legion and their annual Poppy Appeal. Every donation plays a crucial role in supporting the Armed Forces Community, while also giving us all the chance to pause and reflect on the bravery, and sacrifice of those who have served this country.”
Readers would find all further information about this Poppy Appeal 2025 and others by visiting the Fareham Shopping Centre website which further features a layout map of all stores and small businesses. Alternatively they can also visit social media platforms including their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, or contacting the dedicated team on the email.
