Witnesses sought after Gosport suspicious incident

HAMPSHIRE CONSTABULARY have announced they have released an ‘urgent’ appeal for witnesses and information to support their ongoing investigation following a suspicious incident that occurred in Gosport earlier this month; which saw an unidentified male attempt to speak with and follow two young eleven-year-olds girls as they travelled to school.

The incident happened along Wych Lane at approximately 8:15am on October 16 (Thursday) and was reported shortly afterwards upon both victims’ safe arrival at school. It is believed that this male was aged around fifty to sixty years old with white skin and around 5′ 8″ in height; alongside a short grey mohawk hairstyle and wearing a white knitted jumper.

Detectives outlined that their enquires are ‘continuing’ and that they are currently liaising with the school, but they also believe that many people may have been driving / walking on this morning due to the rush hour. They are keen to hear from anybody who could have seen anything suspicious or the incident itself, as well as those with dash-cam or CCTV.

Investigators are urging anybody with potential information to contact the police by calling their non-emergency number 101 and quote the case’s reference number of 44250468571. They can further submit details using the online reporting tool available on the Hampshire Police website, with all official support and further guidance available on the links here.

Alternatively, readers can contact the “independent charity” Crimestoppers 100% anonymously by calling 0800 555 111 for absolutely free; or via their anonymous online forms which can be found through their website: https://orlo.uk/250kR
