August Bank Holiday pharmacy opening times
NHS ENGLAND has published the list of pharmacies that will open across the Hampshire and the Isle of Wight over the upcoming summer Bank Holiday, which will come on Monday, August 29.
Pharmacies have only been listed if they have notified NHS England that they will be open across the day on Bank Holiday Monday; which includes both Gosport and Fareham ASDA supermarkets alongside others in both boroughs.
Readers are asked to note the different opening hours for each pharmacy alongside the fact that hours may change at short notice due to a variety of reasons. They are further asked to check the pharmacy before travelling and those needing repeat medication are asked to submit requests in good time to avoid a last ditch rush.
Dr Derek Sandeman, Chief Medical Officer for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System, said: “Pharmacies, as well as being an invaluable High Street resource, offer expert advice about over-the-counter medicines to treat common health conditions, as well as information on medication and a range of other services.
“Pharmacists are also trained to advise you if you need to see a GP, nurse or other healthcare professional. We would ask people who may need to order repeat prescriptions to please submit them in good time, and not leave them to the last minute with the bank holiday approaching.”
Residents can visit the list available here: Hampshire-Pharmacy-Opening-Times-Aug-BH-2022.pdf (england.nhs.uk) to see the pharmacies that plan to open; including those in Portsmouth and Southampton. Details on the opening times are also available on the NHS England website.
