Council announce special Daedalus events

FAREHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL have announced that it will host two events in early September aimed at showcasing Daedalus in a press release published last week; with both offering visitors a chance to learn new information about its past, present and future as a crucial part of both boroughs over the generations.
Starting at 4pm on September 6 (Tuesday) a sole exhibition will be held within the Bridge Suite at Fareham Innovation Centre lasting two hours until 6pm; with material / exhibits looking at Daedalus’ historic elements, significant recent changes over recent years and the Council’s ambitious developmental plans for the future.
A second event will directly follow the 1st initial exhibition and will start from 6pm at the same location, taking place in the form of a meeting. According to the press release this will give residents a big opportunity to find out more details behind plans including installation of Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) at Solent Airport.
Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Sean Woodward, is attending and is scheduled to be joined by fellow council officers at the meeting; which will likely include a presentation alongside a chance for residents and guests to ask questions about future plans or related issues about the whole Daedalus site.
Both events have been confirmed by the Community Action Team (CATS), who hold regular public meetings to discuss local issues across all Fareham Wards. They often take place where there is a local ‘hot topic’ that is of interest to residents taking place at crucial times and are a safe platform for resident opinion / concerns.
And the council leader encouraged Fareham residents to attend the two events as he said within the online statement: “At our recent CAT meetings we had a number of questions from local residents about Daedalus. Therefore, we promised to hold some events specifically on this topic to answer questions, respond to (their) feedback and showcase this extraordinary site. I encourage (all) local residents to attend and have their say.”
Due to the venue’s limited capacity residents are asked to book a separate ticket for both events and also to choose an arrival time for attending the exhibition to avoid overcrowding.
