Hill Head beach hut could be yours for £32k+

RELAXING in a chair in front of your beach hut at Hill Head while looking out over the Solent sounds rather idyllic but it comes at a price.

Fareham Borough Council is currently making such a beach hut available via a ‘sealed bid’ process and the guide price is, “offers in excess of £32,000”.

The council says the suggested cost of the newly installed beach hut at Plot 2, Cliff Road is, “based on beach hut sales achieved at this location.”

The successful bidder will sign an ongoing tenancy agreement with the council and will also be expected to pay the annual ground rent which for 2022 is £586.53 for Fareham residents or £1,173.06 for non-residents – both rental figures are inclusive of VAT.

Further information is available online HERE or by contacting the council’s Asset Management Team on 01329 236100 Ext 4417.

Applicants are requested to complete the tender form and – together with proof that they have the funds available – return it in a sealed envelope by noon on Monday, July 11, to BEACH HUT BID, The Civic Offices, Civic Way, Fareham PO16 7AZ.

The successful applicant will be informed on July 12 and will be required to pay within 14 days of the closing date.

The Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council Councillor Seán Woodward described it as an, “exceptionally rare opportunity for residents to purchase a hut in such a prime location”.

Cliff Road with its 111 sites is one of the two beach hut locations in Fareham borough, the other being at Monks Hill where there are 60 sites.

Local beach hut owners have formed an association which meets every two months and it can be contacted by emailing: fbha2020@gmail.com
