Month of traffic restrictions for work on Anns Hill Road

DRAINAGE and footway reconstruction work will disrupt traffic flow along Gosport’s Anns Hill Road for four weeks from next Monday, October 17.

It is part of Operation Resilience, Hampshire County Council’s long-term strategy to make roads more resilient to the effects of extreme weather and heavy traffic.

Repairs will be carried out from Privett Road to opposite the main entrance for the Gosport War Memorial Hospital. During the works it will be necessary to close the northbound lane and divert vehicles into the central lane.

And the county council warns motorists that a “small element of these works will have to be carried out under a full road closure.”

“Due to the impact this closure will have on traffic and to minimise disruption, works will be carried out over three nights between the hours of 7pm and 6am.”

Hampshire Highways crews will attempt to keep noise to a minimum during these works. However, they may have to be postponed at short notice, for example in the event of wet weather. The yellow sign boards on site would be updated if this is necessary.

For the safety of pedestrians, road users and the workforce, vehicular access to and from properties during the road closure cannot be guaranteed.

Should residents need to make essential journeys, they are asked to contact a member of the workforce in advance on 0300 555 1388. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
