Witnesses sought after Rowner bike-vehicle collision

HAMPSHIRE CONSTABULARY have announced they have launched an “urgent” appeal for witnesses and information to help their continuing investigations following a collison in Gosport early last week; which saw a male cyclist sustain a number of minor injuries after he was knocked off his bike by an unidentified driver down a busy route during rush hour.

It was reported that the 29-year-old victim was travelling on Rowner Lane via his cycle, where he was hit by the vehicle at approximately 8am last Tuesday morning (April 30) and needed medical treatment. The driver did ‘stop’ at the scene but no details were exchanged between the parties meaning they stay unidentified alongside the vehicle make / model.

The cyclist’s bike was destroyed in this collision and detectives have further confirmed they are carrying out preliminary enquiries into the circumstances. They are particularly keen to hear from anybody who could have seen the collision as well as the cyclist / driver involved; whilst people have been urged to send dashcam footage that may potentially assist.

Detectives are asking for anybody with information or can help to contact police by calling their non-emergency number 101 and quote the case’s reference number of 44240180118. They can further submit details using the online reporting tool available on the Hampshire Police website, with all official support and further guidance available on the links here.
