Young migrants should follow Ukrainian example

LETTER TO THE EDITOR
AS ILLEGAL immigration would seem to be an insurmountable problem, using present methods that is, maybe it’s time to think out of the box?
Well, here’s a thought. Why not commandeer some uninhabited island, if there be one, preferably in the area around the southern coast of England to be used as a sorting out point where it could be established just who is eligible to come here. A kind of Ellis Island, such as America had back in the day to process immigrants?
This island would have to be secure but fitted out humanely of course.
I for one am sick to death of seeing fit young men landing here from points east who claim that they are escaping wars in their own country.
Am I alone in thinking that they should not be running away, but instead be prepared to remain and help sort out problems there?
Example: the young of Ukraine!
