Portchester play area consultation opened

FAREHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL have announced a month’s long consultation to gain public opinions for improving the Kenwood Road play area in Portchester; inviting residents to air their views about how the location could be made better for visitors, families and children.

As part of a five-year plan of play area improvement programme, Kenwood Road is one of the final four expected to be completed by the Autumn 2022 and a public consultation has been launched to get residents’ views; with an announcement made on their council website.

Current plans include the refreshment of equipment and resurfacing of the ground where necessary, with extra play equipment to be added to the site to encourage more visitors at any one time. The consultation will close on February 28 (Monday) and readers can have their say on further ideas or additions here.

Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Cllr Sue Walker, said in an online statement: “I would like to encourage parents local to the Kenwood Road play area to have their say as part of this consultation. It is so important that all children are able to get outdoors to play, stay fit and healthy, and socialise with other children. That’s why we are asking for ideas and suggestions to help ensure the park in inclusive and delivers what our local children really want and need.”
