Shoppers invited to free Halloween activities

By Connor Steel

FAREHAM SHOPPING CENTRE have invited local residents to enjoy a spooky Halloween event in the town centre next Saturday (October 29), with a day of free activities to mark the ghoulish occasion scheduled over an always busy weekend due to paydays and the conclusion of the annual school Autumn half term week off.

Activities will run from 11am until 3pm with activities suitable for everybody of all ages, including a Halloween Lantern Workshop aimed at young children and families. This is likely to be a drop-in craft session where all visitors are able to create themed lanterns and furthermore take their outcome home when completed. Face painters are scheduled to be stationed in Osborn Square to turn visitors into any themed ghoulish character.

Another exciting activity is an hourly ‘treat trail’ led by a team of staff in Halloween-themed outfits, who will be taking young shoppers and families on walks around the indoor areas in the shopping centre in the search of sweet treats. Each child will be gifted a free mini-treat bag to collect their goodies, which can be taken home.

These trails will last approximately thirty minutes individually from start to finish, with the 1st starting and also finishing at Osborn Square from 11:30am. Further walkabouts will occur at 12:30pm, 1:30pm, and 2:30pm to allow for staff to replenish the collected treats around the shopping centre between each of the 4 short walks.

Mike Taylor, a Centre Manager of Fareham Shopping Centre, commented on the activities in an online press release made public earlier this month: “Halloween is part of our annual events calendar. We are pleased to invite shoppers & the community to be able to take part in our free activities. We are sure that everyone that attends will enjoy what we have planned & get to take home some wonderful crafts / treats this Halloween.”

Readers can find out more information about this free event and others by clicking on the Fareham Shopping Centre website, which further features a layout map of all stores and small businesses. Alternatively they can also visit social media platforms including their Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, or contacting on this email.
