Sultan coffee morning boosts pot for MacMillan charity
SAILORS at HMS Sultan have been treated to a bounty of cakes and delicious snacks as the Royal Naval Air Engineering and Survival Equipment School hosted a coffee morning on September 30 in aid of the popular charity MacMillan Cancer Support.
The event was organised by RNAESS Infrastructure & Admin Manager Carole Henderson and ICT Support Andrea Jones; featuring treats such as cakes, donuts, pastries and chocolate snacks.
Andrea said: “We first started the cake sales for MacMillan in 2018 and after doing the same in 2019 have had to take a break due to Covid since so it’s great to finally get back to baking.
“Almost everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer, so we are pleased to be able to show our support for MacMillan Cancer Support and they work that they do.”
The recent coffee morning raised a huge total of £184 for MacMillan Cancer Support, joining similar events at many businesses, schools and departments in marking this fundraising project held every September.
